Public voting widgets for Notion
Context
Although the ability to create portals connected to databases in Notion is awesome, the inability to use buttons on public pages for voting is not. This widget enables you to embed endless voting widgets in your public portal to capture insights.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to use a public portal in Notion to share what they're working on and get quick insights on what people want the most. This will also work on internal Notion pages if you want feedback from your team without having to link to a person property to count votes.
How does it work?
Every time you copy and open the widget link it creates a unique record in Fauna DB, a secure serverless database. Votes are stored against each record, so each new widget can be given a name and embedded across Notion pages.
The widget responds to Windows system settings for light or dark mode, and the color scheme is currently set to Notion's green text hex: #4F9768.
Rules:
- One vote per user.
- The vote name can only be edited once.
Steps to get started:
- Buy it!
- Open the widget URL
- Edit the name of the vote and click away to save, or just leave it blank
- Copy the URL
- Paste the URL in your target page in Notion
- Select the embed option
- Rinse and repeat to create new voting widgets
- 💡Pro tip: Create a button in Notion to open the widget URL and generate new widgets with a click.
